Ku-Ling Bros

Ku-Ling Bros
As a founding member of legendary industrial / electronic music pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, the work of Stephen Mallinder  has helped define an extraordinary range of genres comprising the modern electronic soundscape.

From the early days of Cabs' cut-up 'noise terrorism' in the 70s to breaktrhough house singles in the early Nineties, perhaps no single band has had a more direct impact on today's electronica. Likewise, perhaps no other band has remained under the popular radar as Cabaret Voltaire.

Ku-Ling Bros, a project formed by Soundlab's Shane Norton and Mallinder while the latter was based in Australia, is perhaps a textbook example.

Ku-Lings full-length album Creach - recently re-mastered and re-issued by dPulse and Offworld Sounds - is a virtual template for progressive and funky breaks. Crticially well-received upon initial release in 2000, Creach nontheless remained largely unheard by a wide audience.

Armed with a selection of previously-unreleased remixes and bonus tracks, the 2011 Re-Issue of Creach brings this groundbreaking gem Stateside for the first time. Its place in the Cabs/Mallinder catalog is well-deserved - and a template for many who followed.
